2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Body Mount Tire Carrier Kit (25226)

Safely carry up to a 40" spare tire on your Jeep Wrangler JK with the ICON Impact PRO Series Body Mounted Tire Carrier. Large spare tires can put excessive stress on the stock spare tire mount, beyond what it, and the tailgate it is attached to, was designed for. The ICON Impact Body-Mounted Tire Carrier alleviates these stresses by placing the load of the spare tire's weight almost exclusively on the reinforced rear corner section of the Jeep's body, where the tailgate attaches, rather than on the tailgate itself. The tailgate and the tire carrier open and close independently but are tethered together with a heim joint linkage so that accessing the Jeep's rear cargo area is still a single-action process. Simply open the tailgate and the tire carrier opens with it. A Delrin alignment bushing keeps the tire carrier tightly seated when closed, for rattle-free operation. The Body Mounted Tire Carrier is fabricated entirely of CNC laser cut plate steel. An adjustable cam mechanism in the heavy-duty hinge assembly allows for fine tuning of alignment regardless of tire size and weight. The 2-way adjustable tire mount allows for safe, secure mounting of virtually any tire diameter and wheel offset. The kit also comes with a bracket to relocate the Jeep's license plate to the center of the spare tire. Note that the stock third brake light is eliminated. ICON recommends using a combination LED license plate & third brake light (not included). The ICON Impact Body Mounted Tire Carrier is finished in a durable semi-gloss black multi-stage powder coat.
