Product Spotlight: Icon Alloys Rebound Pro

The ICON Alloys Rebound Pro is an off-road wheel built around a different approach to tire bead retention. Instead of using a traditional external beadlock ring, Rebound Pro uses ICON's patented InnerLock system to help keep the tire bead seated at low pressure while remaining engineered for DOT compliance. That combination is why the Rebound Pro has become a popular option for trucks, Jeeps and SUVs that need real trail capability without giving up normal street use.

What Is ICON Rebound Pro?

Off-road drivers commonly lower tire pressure to increase the tire's contact patch and improve traction and ride quality on rough terrain. The tradeoff is that very low pressure can increase the risk of the tire bead unseating during hard side loads or aggressive driving.

Traditional beadlock wheels address that problem by mechanically clamping the tire bead. ICON developed the Rebound Pro as an alternative: a cast-aluminum wheel that uses InnerLock bead-retention technology inside the wheel rather than an external beadlock ring.

How Does ICON InnerLock Work?

InnerLock uses a series of hardened, O-ring-sealed alloy pins positioned radially around the inner bead area. Those pins create a mechanical barrier that helps prevent the tire bead from moving inward and unseating when the tire is aired down.

The result is bead retention without the external clamping ring used by a conventional beadlock. The retention pins are removable, reusable and replaceable, and the design does not require the periodic bolt re-torquing associated with a traditional beadlock ring.

Is the ICON Rebound Pro DOT Compliant?

Yes. ICON describes the Rebound Pro with InnerLock as engineered for DOT compliance, making it suitable for enthusiasts who drive the same truck, Jeep or SUV both on-road and off-road. That street-and-trail versatility is one of the biggest reasons to consider the Rebound Pro instead of a traditional competition-style beadlock wheel.

How Strong Is the Rebound Pro?

ICON subjected InnerLock to extensive real-world and laboratory testing. In a modified FMVSS No. 139 Tire Bead Unseat Resistance Test performed at 10 psi, ICON reports that the system exceeded the mechanical limit of the test equipment at more than 7,600 pounds of applied load without de-beading the tire.

The Rebound Pro is also rated by ICON for a 3,200-pound load capacity per wheel. Application-specific backspacing and offset options are designed to support caliper clearance, suspension travel and steering function across supported vehicle applications.

Rebound Pro vs. Traditional Beadlock Wheels

The Rebound Pro is designed for the driver who wants the ability to air down aggressively without taking on every compromise of a traditional beadlock. Compared with an external beadlock design, InnerLock reduces hardware and maintenance requirements while retaining a conventional wheel profile and on-road compliance.

A traditional beadlock can still make sense for dedicated competition or specialized off-road builds. For a dual-purpose vehicle that sees highways, trails, camping trips and everyday driving, the Rebound Pro fills a different role.

Who Is the ICON Rebound Pro For?

Rebound Pro wheels are a strong fit for off-road and overland builds where low tire pressure, tire retention and street use all matter. Applications span popular truck, Jeep and SUV platforms, with multiple bolt patterns, offsets and finishes available depending on fitment.

Before ordering wheels, always verify bolt pattern, wheel size, offset, backspacing and tire clearance for your specific vehicle and suspension setup.
